Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin's Indian Open run ends in semis

Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin's fine run at the Indian Open badminton superseries has ended in the semi-finals.

The world No. 86 went down fighting 21-18, 10-21, 19-21 to world No. 8 Shi Yuqi of China in New Delhi on Saturday.

Iskandar, who came through the qualifiers, had a good start by taking the first game 21-18.

However, fourth seed Yuqi stormed back to take the second set 21-10 before overcoming a 12-16 deficit in the rubber to seal the win after 69 minute.

Iskandar, on the other hand, will return home on Monday to prepare for Malaysia's challenge at the Asia Team Championships in Alor Setar.
