Anwar admitted to HKL for surgery

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) on Wednesday, in preparation for a surgical procedure on his right shoulder which has a chronic injury.
In a statement Wednesday, HKL's head of the panel of consultants Datuk Dr Jeyaindran Sinnadurai said Anwar's injury was sustained during a car accident several years ago.
"He will be operated upon by a team of consultant orthopaedic surgeons from Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The tentative date of the operation is Nov 12, 2017," he added.
According to Dr Jeyaindran, the next statement to the press will be released after the former Opposition leader's surgery.
He is currently serving the sentence at the Sungai Buloh prison. Monday (Nov 6) marked the 1,000th day he has been jailed.
