Sivasangari wins Malaysian Open squash title

KUALA LUMPUR: National squash player S. Sivasangari has captured the Malaysian Open women's title for the biggest victory of her career so far.
 
The 18-year-old fourth seed beat fifth seeded Milnay Louw of South Africa 11-9, 11-3, 11-5 in the final at the National Squash Centre in  Bukit Jalil on Saturday. 
 
With her victory, Sivasangsari who is world no. 47 become the only second Malaysian winner in the tournament's history after Nicol David.
 
Ng Eain Yow, a wildcard entrant, failed to make it a double joy as he went down tamely 6-11, 2-11, 4-11 to third seed Leo Au of Hong Kong in the men's final.
 

The storied Malaysian Open made its come back after a two-year lapse, albeit as a lower-tier tournament.
 
The men's event offers US$25,000 (RM105,000) while the women's offers US10,000 (RM42,000).
