Momota just too good for Zii Jia in Czech Open semi-final

PETALING JAYA: Lee Zii Jia’s quest for a second international title has come to an end in the fourth-tier Czech Open International Challenge.
The 19-year-old Zii Jia went down 8-21, 10-21 to Kento Momota of Japan in the men’s singles semi-finals in Brno yesterday.
Zii Jia had earlier beaten two-time national champion Lim Chi Wing 21-16, 21-14 in an all-Malaysian quarter-final.
Last week, Zii Jia bagged his first senior title by clinching the fifth-tier Polish International Series.
That win saw him overtake his senior Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin in the latest world ranking released by Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Thursday.
Zii Jia is now world No. 62 while Iskandar, who lost in the first rounds of the Polish International Series and Czech Open, dropped eight rungs to No. 63.
