Missing man found dead near his farm in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A vegetable farmer who was reported missing has been found dead near his farm in Sabah's central Tongod district, some 260km from here.
Salmin Ramatan, 37, was said to have gone to the farm near his house at Kg Minusoh at about 2.30pm on Monday.
When he failed to return home after two days, his wife then alerted the authorities as she was worried something had happened as Salmin had heart problems.
She only lodged the report after two days as Salmin would sometimes spend a day working on his farm.
"The wife and villagers had tried searching for the victim themselves earlier that morning and only alerted the authorities after failing to locate him," he said.
A search and rescue team was mobilised to the scene on Thursday morning.
"Salmin was found dead at about 9.30am and is believed to have died due to heart complications," Amrin said.
His body has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
