Lorry driver suffers heart attack on Penang Bridge

GEORGE TOWN: Traffic came to a crawl for mainland-bound motorists after a lorry driver crashed his vehicle following a heart attack on the Penang Bridge.
The traffic jam stretched from the bridge all the way down the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway on the island yesterday.
In the incident, the 46-year-old lorry driver reversed his vehicle into a taxi, smashing the front portion of the taxi.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said the lorry driver died at the Seberang Jaya Hospital while the taxi driver was unhurt.
Firemen used boats to look for the man but to no avail.
A department spokesman said they found a motorcycle on the Prai-bound side of the bridge with the contacts of his family members.
It is learnt that the family members later tried to call him but failed.
