Eric See-To wants to debate both Rafizi and Tony Pua

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Eric See-To has accepted PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli's challenge to a debate over tax collections but only if he gets to debate Tony Pua over the Penang Tunnel project as well.
"I now remind Rafizi of his debate challenge and humbly accept his challenge – despite this being the first public debate of my life but I have one condition.
"I will accept Rafizi's debate challenge only if Rafizi also gets Tony Pua to debate on the Penang Tunnel," said the Barisan Nasional strategic communications (BNSC) deputy director in a statement on Friday.
In September, the Pandan MP had challenged See-To to a debate on the nation's economic development and tax collection by the Inland Revenue Board.
"This tunnel project involves state funds that can total more than RM15bil and has many areas of great doubt and suspicion.
"Among others, the Penang government had already paid more than RM220mil to do reports which was found to be 400% above the gazetted scale of fees," he said.
See-To also said that the Penang government had allowed RM3bil of state land rights to be pre-sold despite construction being delayed for many years.
He claimed that the DAP-led Penang government had remained silent after he raised new findings about the project and a public debate was needed to get answers.
"It will be two debates or none at all … Rafizi is also welcome to assist Pua on the Penang Tunnel debate.
"If Rafizi agrees, then I request for him to get Invoke to organise the time and place for both debates," said See-To.
