Boy Iman free once more as remand application rejected

KUANTAN: DBI Properties managing director Datuk Noruliman A. Rahman has once again been released after the magistrate's court here denied another application to remand him for investigations into an alleged housing scam.
Magistrate Nordiana Abd Aziz rejected the four-day application against Noruliman and two others after hearing submissions from their lawyer Faizul Mohd Nasir.
This was the second time Noruliman, better known as Boy Iman, has been released since he was first arrested on Oct 3.
He had been remanded at six locations across the country before an application for remand was rejected in Penang on Oct 15. However, Noruliman was immediately rearrested the same day.
"To me, it is an abuse of the legal process. My client should just be charged if there is a case against him.
"I submitted that my client has visited many lockups and police stations where the same statements and facts of case have been given. The only things different are the complainants.
"The magistrate found our submission to be relevant and there is no further reason to detain my client," Faizul told reporters here on Tuesday.
All suspects were previously remanded to assist investigations under Section 420 of the Penal Code for an alleged cheating case which led to RM6.2mil in losses.
Noruliman is one of three suspects in the alleged scam where houses were offered at below-market prices to buyers.
