Bangsar fire believed to be electrical fire, says Fire and Rescue Department

PETALING JAYA: The cause of Saturday’s fire that killed one and injured five is believed to have been an electrical fire.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman confirmed this when contacted.
“Based on the spread of the fire and its effects and interviews with eyewitnesses, the fire was found to have started at the left side of the living room,” he added.
Khirudin added that fire-fighters recovered a “four outlet extension plug” at the location of the fire’s origin.

One victim, identified as a middle-aged woman who goes by the name Kamadevi, perished during the fire.
The remaining five victims, aged between 12 to 60, have been warded for observation due to smoke inhalation.
