Video of motorist going berserk over clamping goes viral

PETALING JAYA: Yet another road user has been caught on camera fighting with municipal council personnel over a traffic infraction.
This time, the incident, which occurred on Monday, was in Taman Segar, Cheras.
In the four minute video, a man can be seen fighting with DBKL personnel after his car had been clamped.
Two women, believed to be family members tried to hold the man back.Taunting from both sides was also heard.
The car driver can also be seen retrieving a small rod from his car, before almost coming to blows with one of the men there.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Chong Kok Sin said that a police report was made by one of the DBKL personnel on the day of the incident.
"He and his colleague, as well as two other men had clamped the car after it had been parked outside the designated box. The team, which included the two men from a company selected by the council, was conducting a car clamping operation within the area.
"After receiving instructions from the DBKL call centre, he and his colleagues went to the car to un-clamp the car, after receiving word that the offender would pay the fine.
"But a misunderstanding occurred and there was pushing during the argument that ensued," said ACP Chong.
He added that the case was still under investigation, and that the police would be recording statements from the other suspect and bystanders.
This viral video is coming on the heels of a similar incident that occurred early September where a woman threatened a municipal council officer with a steering lock, after a shouting match that erupted after the officer had clamped her car for illegally parking in front of a restaurant in Puchong.
