Religious school fire: Brothers and cousin laid to rest at Jalan Ampang cemetery

KUALA LUMPUR: Three of the 23 victims of the fire that gutted Darul Quran Ittafaqiyah tahfiz school have been laid to rest at the Jalan Ampang Muslim Cemetery here.
Brothers Azkar Dariemi F. Zaskar, eight and Azkar Abiedi F. Zaskar, 11, were buried in the same grave as their cousin Muhammad Afiq Haqimie Hairulizwan, 11.
The hearse carrying their remains arrived at the cemetery at 6.27pm on Friday.
Before that, solat jenazah (funeral prayers) for the three were offered at Madrasah Insaniah Hospital Kuala Lumpur at about 5pm.
They were laid to rest at about 7.15pm.
Emmi Farizah Abd Aziz, 37, who is the mother to Azkar Dariemi and Azkar Abiedi, appeared calm as the burial ceremony and prayers took place.
Hundreds of family members, friends and even members of the public came to pay their last respects.
The remains of Nik Muhammad Ridzuan Nik Azalan, 12, arrived at the cemetery for burial at 7.50pm.
He will be buried near the grave of his sister, who died after battling leukaemia in 2015.
