Najib and wife visit grave of Tuanku Abdul Halim

ALOR SETAR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor visited the Langgar Royal Mausoleum here to pay their last respects to late Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah.
The Prime Minister and his wife arrived at the royal mausoleum at about 6.30pm to visit the grave of the late Sultan who passed away on Monday aged 89 at Istana Anak Bukit here.
Najib had travelled to Alor Setar directly from London to visit the grave.
He was received by Tunku Bendahara Kedah Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Syafinaz Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim and Tunku Laksamana Kedah Datuk Seri Tunku Saifuddin Badlishah ibni Tunku Sallehuddin.
Among the others present were Raja Dihilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan IdrisRaja Puan Muda Perak Tan Sri Tunku Soraya Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah and Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
The ceremony began with the tahlil recital by Kedah Mufti Datuk Syeikh Fadzil Awang and continued with the Al-Fatihah prayers.
The Prime Minister was seen wiping away tears during the prayers.
Najib and Rosmah proceeded to pour some water and sprinkle flower petals onto the grave.
