Khalid not likely to join PAS

PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is not likely to join PAS yet, putting to rest speculation that he is considering the move.
But talk on the ground is that the former Selangor mentri besar may make an appearance at the Islamist party’s mega gathering in Terengganu this weekend.
A source close to Khalid said the independent Port Klang assemblyman would not be attending PAS’ Fastaqim 2.0 gathering.
“Speculation that he will apply to join PAS is also not true.
“No, he is not going,” said the source via a text message.
Despite being party-less since his sacking from PKR in 2014, Khalid has always been publicly seen with PAS leaders during their events or election campaigns.
While political observers believe it is just a matter of time before Khalid joins PAS, he has never voiced such intention.
But Khalid reportedly said that he felt “indebted” to PAS as the party was supportive of him when he was being ousted as mentri besar and then from PKR.
Fastaqim 2.0 will be held in Kuala Nerus to send a message that the results of the next general election will be favourable to PAS.
