Johor Sultan: Leave woman in video alone

PETALING JAYA: Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar is urging the public to stop casting aspersions against a woman who allegedly hugged and kissed him during a stop in Ayer Hitam during the Kembara Mahkota Johor (KMJ) 2017 on Monday.
Sultan Ibrahim said there was a video recording which clearly showed that the lady did not kiss him, as certain quarters had claimed.
"She approached me and whispered something into my ear. However, I could not hear what she was saying because of the noise in the open area," he told the Royal Press Office on Thursday.
The Sultan of Johor stressed that the woman did not do anything untoward or improper, and urged police to be tactful when probing the matter.
In the alleged incident at 8.45am on Monday, the woman approached Sultan Ibrahim soon after he arrived at Taman Medan Putra in Ayer Hitam, as part of the KMJ programme.
"The video recording, however, clearly shows otherwise," read the statement from the Royal Press Office, which was shared on the Johor Ruler's Facebook page along with a video of the event.
