Traffic stop leads to bloody find

PETALING JAYA: A traffic stop led to a bloody find when police found a grievously injured man being transported.
On Saturday, a traffic police team from the Kajang police headquarter stopped a car during a road block along Jalan Reko, Kajang.
But when inspected, the cops on duty there noticed something was amiss.
“The driver tried to bribe the policemen who were conducting the inspection. After conducting a thorough search, they found that one of the passengers was bloody and had a serious injury to his stomach.
“A machete was found in the bonnet of the car as well. The victim was sent to Hospital Kajang for treatment, while the four others in the car were arrested,” said Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussoff.
Investigations showed that the 23-year-old victim had met up with one of the suspects earlier in Setapak.
However he was ambushed by eight to nine people and attacked during which he was stabbed.
The arrested suspects, aged between 21 to 30, have been sent to the Wangsa Maju police headquarters for further investigations.
“One of the suspects who confessed to the stabbing indicated that the incident was due to jealousy,” said ACP Ahmad Dzaffir.
He added that the victim’s condition was stable.
ACP Ahmad Dzaffir also said that Wangsa Maju cops will be investigating the attempted murder, while his district will focus its investigations on the weapon found in the car.
