Police tracking down two men for robbery in daylight

PERMATANG PAUH: Police are on the hunt for two men who robbed a woman at a traffic light junction near Politeknik Seberang Prai here this afternoon.
In the 1pm incident, the robbers had approached the victim's car on their motorcycle and smashed the window on the passenger's side.
They then took away her handbag before fleeing from the scene.
Seberang Prai Tengah police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the 28-year-old victim stopped at a nearby petrol station to get help.
He said the bag contained RM550, several bank and identification cards belonging to the victim's family members.
"We have retrieved the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage near the crime scene, and are tracking down the suspects.
"We have cross-checked the robbers' motorcycle registration number, but it turned out to be fake," he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.
