Police arrest 6 men for rioting at family home in Kubang Pasu

JITRA: Police have arrested six men in connection with a riot incident on Sunday which left four in a family in Padang Sera injured.
Kubang Pasu police chief Superintendent Mohd Ismail Ibrahim said the men, aged between 20 and 30, were picked up on at separate locations around the district yesterday.
He said based on the report, the victim claimed that the six, together with 17 others who are still at large, had gone to the house at 9.30pm on Sunday.
“The house owner, 46, claimed that the group came to the house searching for his 16-year-old nephew.
“The victim claimed that 12 of the men had barged into his house before assaulting him and his younger brother, his mother and also his nephew,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Ismail said all the victims suffered bruises to their faces and bodies.
He added that initial investigation showed that the nephew knows some of the men and police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
Police have classified the case under Section 148 and 448 of the Penal Code for rioting and house trespassing.
