KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 312 policemen in the state will be deployed during the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games from Aug 19 to Aug 30.
State police chief Datuk Aidi Ismail said Terengganu will host the endurance race competition, scheduled to be held at the Terengganu International Endurance Park (TIEP) in Lembah Bidong, Setiu.
He said police would join forces with other enforcement agencies including the Armed Forces and the Fire and Rescue Department to ensure safety and public order during the event.
"We have put in a lot of effort and time to ensure that the safety of the athletes and audience are given top priority," he said today.
“Our personnel will patrol the venue as well as to ensure speedy response should there be any untoward incidents," he added.
He said all the personnel had undergone a security drill to strengthen their preparedness during the game.
"I assure all visitors, athletes and officials that our venue will be safe for the event," he said.
