Malaysia beat Indonesia 1-0 to enter SEA Games football final

SHAH ALAM: National Under-23 team booked their berth in the final of the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games after edging Indonesia 1-0 in the semi-final at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday night.
Striker N. Thanabalan was the hero again for the team as his late header knocked-out Indonesia in the semi-final.
The match was locked at 0-0 at half-time before Thanabalan scored to break the tie at the 86th minute.
The tense game saw over 80,000 hardcore fans occupying the Shah Alam Stadium.
The final will be a repeat of the 2001 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games final between Malaysia -Thailand at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil next Tuesday.
Malaysia last won the gold medal in the 2011 Jakarta SEA Games, while Thailand are the defending champions.
