Kedah teen to be charged tomorrow for allegedly raping sisters

ALOR STAR: An 18-year-old teenager from Sungai Layar who was detained for allegedly raping his two sisters will be charged at the Sungai Petani magistrate’s court tomorrow.
Kuala Muda deputy police chief Superintendent Saifi Abd Hamid said the teen will be charged under Section 376B of the Penal Code for rape, which carries a maximum 30 years’ jail and whipping if convicted.
It is learnt that police received an order from the state deputy public prosecutor’s office to proceed with the charge after resubmitting the investigation paper this morning.
It was reported that the boy, the third of 12 siblings, was detained 13 days ago following a report lodged by his mother that he had allegedly raped his 8-year-old sister.
The girl claimed that the teen had raped her in a vacant house adjacent to their home in Sungai Layar.
The teen was arrested when he turned up at the Kuala Muda police headquarters to have his statement recorded a day after his mother lodged the report.
It was reported that investigators were also probing into claims by the suspect’s two other sisters, aged 9 and 14, that they had also been raped by him.
Medical examinations carried out on the sisters at Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital later confirmed that the two of the sisters, aged 8 and 14, were raped.
The three sisters are now being placed at a shelter home under the state Welfare Department in Jitra pending the investigations.
