Indonesian woman among 3 nabbed in Sarawak for drug abuse

BAU: An Indonesian woman was among three people detained for drug abuse in two raids carried out at Kampung Serikin here yesterday.
The 31-year-old woman, who tested positive for methamphetamine, was arrested at an unnumbered house in the village, where police seized two packets of a crystal-like substance believed to be syabu.
State Narcotics Crime Investigations Department (NCID) head Supt Sahar Abdul Latif said the packets, weighing about 80 grams, were hidden in a wardrobe.
“The police also found a (drinking) straw containing a substance believed to be syabu,” he said in a statement here.
The other two people nabbed – men aged 46 and 29 – were picked up from a workshop at an unnumbered unit in the same village at about 3pm.
The enforcement team seized four packets of a crystal-like substance, weighing about 53 grams.
The packets were found in the 29-year-old suspect’s jeans and on a table in the workshop.
“We… discovered more packets kept in a drawer in one of the rooms,” Sahar added.
Police also seized a Toyota Camry and cash amounting to RM3,240 from the two suspects.
The duo also tested positive for methamphetamine.
