Fuel prices up this week; 4 sen for petrol, 6 sen for diesel

KUALA LUMPUR: Retail prices for petrol and diesel will see another increase in retail prices across the board from midnight tonight.
RON95 petrol will go up by four sen per litre to RM2.07, from its previous price of RM2.03. RON97 will retail at RM2.32 per litre, up from RM2.28 previously.
Meanwhile, diesel will see a six sen increase to RM2.05, from last week’s RM1.99 per litre.
The new prices were announced by the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry this evening.
The prices come into effect at midnight tonight, and will be in effect from Aug 3 until Aug 9.
The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was implemented in April this year.
A managed monthly float system for fuel prices had been in effect since Dec 1, 2014, following the removal of fuel subsidies.
