Elderly bachelor who turned home into a drug lair nabbed

BALING: A 62-year-old retiree was caught for using his home as a haunt for drug addicts and fund his addiction in Pulai here.
The bachelor was among the 12 men rounded up in a raid by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) yesterday.
Baling Nada chief Arnida Ishak said the retiree had been using his house in Batu 42 as a port for junkies in the village to get their fix.
She said investigation also revealed the man allegedly peddle drugs to the junkies.
"He uses proceeds from the drugs sale to fund his addiction," she said in a statement.
Arnida said all the men detained during the raid were tested positive for drugs abuse.
In a separate raid at Padang Che Mas, she said a drug pusher was caught red handed while packing cannabis at an abandoned home.
The raiding team led by NADA officer Nor Hajat Aswat Khamis, also picked up three junkies at the scene for helping the suspect to pack the drugs.
All the suspects aged between 19 and 62, will be sent for rehabilitation while the drug pusher from Padang Che Mas has been handed over to the police for further investigation under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
