Double Bullseye for Malaysia in Archery

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia celebrated a golden double at the archery range in Bukit Jalil on Thursday after the men's and women's compound teams retained their respective gold medals.
After a disappointing day in the individual events on Wednesday, the compound archers redeemed themselves with a solid display in the team events.
First up were the women trio of Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh, Nurul Syazhera Asim and Saritha Cham Nong who edged a tense final against Vietnam 28-27 in a shootoff after the match ended all square at 225-225.
Saritha defied the pressure as the final shooter to clinch the winner in the shootoff with an impeccable 10.
Inspired by the women's success, the men's team of Juwaidi Mazuki, Zulfadhli Ruslan and Lee Kin Lip dominated their final against Singapore, never trailing to post a comfortable 228-222 win.
The two gold medals added to Malaysia's tally of a silver and a bronze won on the opening day of the archery competition at the Synthetic Turf Field.
Indonesia defeated Thailand 225-222 for the men's team bronze while Philippines claimed the women's bronze by beating Vietnam 233-230.
