Distraught sibling: My brother had always wanted to be a cop

SERDANG: Murdered L/Kpl Velentino Mesa always wanted to be a policeman, said his brother.
Speaking to reporters outside the Hospital Serdang Forensic Department on Thursday, Mesa's elder brother said joining the force had been Mesa's dream since he was a child.
"I met him two weeks ago and he was fine. I don't know why this has happened," said the distraught sibling who declined to be named.
The 29-year-old lance corporal was shot dead in a police station on Jalan TP 7/2 in Subang Jaya early Thursday.
The victim was found in a pool of blood by policemen during a routine patrol stop at the Pinggiran Subang Jaya police station around 3.25am.
It is learnt that Mesa was on duty alone at the station at the time.
Mesa's 29-year-old wife, Rossie Beti did not want to comment.
His body left the hospital at around 5.15pm for the KL International Airport before being flown to Sibu Airport and brought to his hometown in Sarikei, Sarawak.
The victim, who was shot once and slashed on the back of his head had joined the force in 2010.
The victim's pistol was also missing from the scene.
Police have not ruled out that the victim knew his attacker as he was shot at close range.
