Singaporean singer-actor assaults wife when caught at Cheras karaoke outlet with another woman

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a Singaporean singer cum actor for assaulting his 23-year-old wife at a karaoke outlet in Cheras yesterday.
It is learnt that the artist was in a booth at the entertainment outlet with another woman, when his wife and her mother walked in at 4.30pm.
The wife, who had been searching for her husband, was outraged by what she found and started an argument, before taking pictures of her husband with the other woman.
A minor scuffle erupted when the artist attempted to grab his wife’s mobile phone, resulting in her sustaining injuries to the face and knee.
The artist, who gained possession of the phone, deleted all the photos before leaving the outlet with the other woman.
It is learnt that the wife had just given birth to the artist’s child and was still in confinement. She received outpatient treatment at the UKM Medical Centre before lodging a police report.
Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Chong Kok Sin said the artist was remanded under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, and Section 18 of the Domestic Violence Act 1994.
The couple had tied the knot in November, and the wife delivered her first baby early this month.
