Policeman fires 5 shots at friend, one hits victim's buttocks, in early morning scuffle

KUALA LUMPUR: A policeman has been arrested for allegedly firing a shot at a man in his buttocks during a scuffle at a restaurant in Setapak early this morning.
The incident unfolded at the restaurant when the policeman, the victim and another friend were having drinks together when a fight broke out.
The policeman, attached to Federal Police headquarters in Bukit Aman had allegedly fired five shots with one hitting the victim on the buttock.
City police chief Datuk Amar Singh said following the incident, the policeman, who is believed to be a corporal, has been arrested.
“He has been arrested and his gun had been seized. He is being investigated for discharging firearm.
“We are now determining if he was really drunk during the incident,” he said during the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters Hari Raya open house.
