Name your PM designate, Gerakan Youth tells Pakatan Harapan

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan's leadership structure raises more questions on who is actually leading the coalition, says Gerakan Youth.
"Who is the real leader, we don't know but from pictures at their press conference, the person in control is the person who holds the microphone," its chief Tan Keng Liang (pix) told a press conference at the party headquarters in Menara PGRM on Saturday.
Tan said he had to deduce that it meant that the person "in control" of the coalition was Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"The one holding the microphone is Dr Mahathir while Azizah is just holding a cardboard," he said adding that it looked like Dr Mahathir was leading the press conference.
Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is PKR president.
On Friday, Dr Mahathir announced Pakatan's leadership structure, naming himself as chairman, PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the de facto (ketua umum) leader and Dr Wan Azizah as president.
Tan also called on Pakatan to make a decision on and announced who would be the designated prime minister.
"We don't care who he will be but announce it. We want to protect the voters so they know who they are voting for," he said.
Tan added it could be timely for the Election Commission to make it lawful for any coalition contesting in the general election to name their designated prime minister.
He also highlighted the fact that Pakatan's youth wing was sidelined and holding no position in the leadership line up was an "embarrassment".
He also noted that since Pakatan wanted to give more autonomy to Sabah and Sarawak, its leaders failed to demonstrate a single bumiputra representative from the two states.
"The closest they can get is Sarawak DAP chief Chong Chieng Jen," he said.
