Malays must unite to keep DAP from ruling country

JITRA: Voters, particularly the Malays, have been reminded against taking a risk with the nation's future by allowing DAP to rule the country after the next general elections.
Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the Malay community should not take for granted their power to elect the government at both the federal and state levels.
He said the Malays voters should defend the state and parliamentary seats, instead of dividing them to other parties other than Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
"We must never forget that Parliament seats are the source of power (to form the federal government).
"If we win all the state seats but lose all the parliamentary seats, it means that Umno will not be able to continue ruling the country.
"The Malays must never gamble their future because in BN, Umno holds the largest seats and that is why the prime minister and deputy prime minister are from Umno," he said after opening the Kubang Pasu Wanita division annual delegates meeting here today.
He stressed that DAP would insist to play the role of decision maker in Pakatan Harapan as they hold the most seats among the opposition coalition.
"This must not be allowed in a country where the majority 62 per cent of the population made of the Malays and Muslims," he said.
Shahidan, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department said Malay voters must vote for representatives from Umno as the party held the power in the government.
"If the Malays, especially Umno members are divided, DAP will stand to benefit and we risk losing the power in Parliament which is the centre of power in the government." he said.
