Kit Siang tells off reporter asking about flowers from ex-DAP members

KUALA LUMPUR: An online news portal reporter was told off by veteran MP Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Gelang Patah) today for asking about flowers presented by former-DAP members outside the Parliament.
The reporter, from KLXpress, had asked Kit Siang if he had received the flowers from the group led by Pertubuhan Minda dan Sosial Prihatin Malaysia (PMSP) president Datuk Seri Ramesh Rao.
The question triggered a livid reaction from the DAP leader who then asked the reporter which organisation was he from.
"Why are they sending me flowers?
“KLXpress should be receiving the flowers.
“KLXpress is one of the scums of news portals,” he said, leaving the reporter blushed.
The group of former DAP members showed up outside Parliament to present flowers to Kit Siang over what they described as his "success" in reaching his goals with the party.
Rao told reportes that the flowers were meant as a congratulatory gesture in "dividing the Malays".
He said he was not surprised that the reporter was wrong-footed by Kit Siang.
"That’s the style of someone who had been dictating a political party with an iron-fist.
“Many DAP members are in fact unhappy with Kit Siang, but they dare not voice out for fear of reprisals including expulsion from party and lawsuits,” said Rao.
He also chided Kit Siang for refusing to come out and accept the flowers, which was a bouquet of white daisies.
A representative said to be working for Teresa Kok (DAP-Seputeh) met the group instead and accepted the floral gift.
