Huawei launches new Honor 8 Pro with dual cameras

There’s yet another top-of-the-range flagship smartphone in town – the brand new Honor 8 Pro.
Honor, the sister brand of Huawei, is well known for its dual-camera smartphones, which it claimed to pioneer back in 2014.
The latest release sports the dual 12-megapixel camera at the rear – one dedicated to colour and the other to monochrome.
The setup also boasts a wide aperture range (f/0.95 to f/16), which allows users to produce stunning bokeh effects that has blurred out backgrounds.
However, unlike its Huawei-branded siblings, the cameras on Honor smartphones are not Leica-certified.
With the addition of phase detect and laser autofocus features, Huawei claims that users will be able to focus faster and more accurately than regular smartphones.
The Honor 8 Pro is also equipped with an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Unlike the previous model, the Honor 8 Pro sports a larger 5.7in QHD (1,440 x 2,560 pixels) display, which is great for entertainment on-the-go or gaming sessions.
The Honor 8 Pro is powered by the company’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor, which can be found in the Huawei’s flagship P10, and 6GB RAM, which according to Au, is the most ever in an Honor device to date.
“With the release of the 8 Pro, we are putting the focus back on our core target — the young at heart,” said Luke Au, Huawei consumer business group regional product marketing director .
"It redefines large screen smartphones by delivering absolute performance for today's power users in an ultra-thin minimalist the design."
Other specs include 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card), rear fingerprint sensor and massive 4,000mAh battery which supports fast charging.
