Exposed wires near school pose a danger to pupils

A resident is concerned about wires protruding from a lamp post near SM Kelana Jaya in Petaling Jaya.
The resident, who wished to be identified only as Rashid, told Actionline that the exposed wires had not been checked for weeks.
“The wires pose a danger to pedestrians. I am particularly worried about pupils passing by the area. It is very risky for passers-by on rainy days.
“The loose wires are an accident waiting to happen. I hope the authorities will take urgent steps to repair the lamp post.”
The Petaling Jaya City Council said the matter came under the purview of Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (Litrak), the operator of the Damansara–Puchong Expressway.
A council spokesman said the complaint had been forwarded to Litrak for action.
