Alleged car bomb maker out on bail

PETALING JAYA: The suspect who allegedly planted a homemade bomb on his former girlfriend's car in Kapar, Klang has been released on police bail Friday.
"The suspect has been released on bail," Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said in a text message, confirming the release.
He added that a decision whether or not to prosecute would be made by the Deputy Public Prosecutor soon.
The suspect was originally remanded until Thursday, but it was extended for an additional day to assist investigations.
On July 8, a nurse heard a beeping sound from her car and found the device stuck to the bumper of the vehicle.
A police disposal unit was dispatched to the scene and it was later confirmed that the device was an improvised explosive device (IED).
The IED was safely disposed of at about 2.30am on Sunday.
Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ab Rashid Ab Wahab had previously stated that it was unlikely the device would have caused serious injuries.
The case has been classified as criminal intimidation as well as making and possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances.
