Malaysia Airlines abruptly cancels KL-Darwin route

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has cancelled all flights from Kuala Lumpur to Darwin and from Darwin to Kuala Lumpur due to a network rationalisation exercise.
The flight withdrawal, MAS told the New Straits Times, is effective July 28.
“This is part of a regular and ongoing network review process which is in line with the airline’s strategy to focus on sustainable routes and on operating as efficiently as possible to enable it to return to profitability and deliver greater value to customers.
“Malaysia Airlines sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused to customers,” MAS said.
For those with confirmed bookings on the affected flights, reallocation plans are currently in place.

Others, MAS added, are entitled to refunds or conversion to other destinations.
